Do You Have an Attitude of Faith

Do You Have an Attitude of Faith?

Oh no!  Are you in a mess and think you  have no way out of it?  Okay, I have to go back to the story of Job in the Bible.  None of us would ever want to go through what this man Job went through.  Yet, many will go through a lot and things that devastate them to the point of losing hope and faith.

I could put down here all the challenges I have gone through in my long life but why would I do that?  After all, you have problems in your life as well.  It is easy to get caught up in the pains of life and lose faith..but when we get back on the path to God and pray and listen to God…He will give us His peace no matter what we might have to go through in life.

As I look around today there is so much pain and suffering out there.  I look at all the vets who have lost so much to protect us and it breaks my heart.  The pain that so many had to suffer physically, but then also the ones that came back with PTSD and suffer everyday mentally as well.  That is still suffering.  How I wonder how they truly deal with the pains they suffer.  This doesn’t just go to vets either, but every person who has lost loved one, have themselves being sick, or their loved ones sick and dying.  Oh, the things that rob of us of peace, faith, and hope in our life.

Until we take everything to God and actually sit and wait for God to talk to us…we won’t find the peace He offers us.  I don’t mean a physical voice…but you could…I mean a word from the Bible, a peace in your heart, help for you in some way…God will give you a peace you can’t get anywhere else.

Back to Job…he lost everything: His big family, his health, his wealth, and even his so-called friends didn’t encourage him.  I won’t put the gory details down for you can read his story in the Bible and what a story it is. I lost a child and I can tell you how devastating it was, yet, this man lost all his kids.  No one replaces t hem.  No one could replace mine no matter how many kids I had.  All are loved and all are different.  Yet, after the season Job had to go through God gave him many kids, and brought him back to wealth.  We wonder why he had to go through these things.  God knew all along that Job would stay faithful to him no matter what he lost or how much pain he had to go through.  Don’t we want the same kind of faith and hope in our life?  I do…but I sure don’t want what happened to job to happen in my life or the life of those I care about (or even my enemies lives). I want everyone to come to Jesus and find His peace in their life.

In my own life I had to find an attitude of faith.  Not always easy if you are hurting or seeing someone you care about hurting…but I needed it…and my loved ones needed it too.

As I said, I don’t need to put all the garbage down, all the sicknesses, all the pain down…as it happens to others as well in this life.  Mine hurt and hurts a lot sometimes.  When doctors tell  you that you have major health issues, or those you love do, or those you know do…it can be tough.

Well, I might still have to go through things, or those I love must go through things…but Jesus is there with us and we can journey on and make it through no matter what.  If Jesus chooses to heal us that would be amazing, but if for whatever reason He choose not to…He will still walk with us through the pain, and one day we will get a new body that won’t ever hurt again.  We might have to face the residual effects of whatever is wrong with us or them.  But I praise God for still being with me.

Whatever yours and my circumstances in life are now, or at any time in the future…stand on God’s word and never, ever, ever, give up.  This life might be tough but we are in our own race for eternity with God and I can’t run your race and you can’t run mine.  My choices determine my final outcome and so do yours.  I wish we could make eternal decisions for all those we love (and even our enemies), but this is on them.  They were given free-will just like we are given it.

I want healing, peace, joy, restoration, deliverance, abundant life while here on earth

(I am not talking money), and I want my Lord to keep me on the path to eternity with Him…even if my life must face the bumps along the way.  I want these for you as well.  I want to spend eternity with all my loved ones and everyone who has gone through my life (loved one, friend, co-worker in life, even my enemies.  Why the enemies?  Because if they change and follow Jesus they are not longer ones enemies if their conversion is real.)

So today…(and everyday) I want and need to go to my Lord, give Him my day, all my cubbies to weed out, and to stay focused on Him and what matters to Him…and not to me so much.  Jesus is my role model.  Oh, there are a lot of people alive or who have died we might have thought as good role models in life, but no one can top any area of our Lord.  He is the only perfect role model.  Why would I pick anyone else?  How is your attitude of faith?

So today… I ask God to bless you, keep you, give you strength, and to keep you on the path to heaven.
