Post 10…August 2023   We are the Remnant

Of course, the most blessed remnant is that of the true Church, the body of Christ, chosen out of the millions who have lived and died over the centuries. Jesus made it clear that this remnant would be small when compared to the number of people on the earth throughout history. “Many” will find the way to eternal destruction, but “few” will find the way to eternal life (Matthew 7:13-14). We who believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior can, with great peace, rest in the fact that we belong to the “remnant.”

We are living in such a difficult time on this earth.  Evil is all around us and getting worse, but don’t think for even a moment that you have it worse than all the prior Christians that lived and were persecuted.  Now, that doesn’t make us feel better, does it?  No, of course not.  Life is hard and times are bad.  We can’t be moved from our stance on staying in the presence of God. If we reject Jesus…we will suffer for all eternity.

The Bible talks about apostasy and the fact that many….Christians will walk away in the last days. My brain says how could they do that but millions will do just that.  We must be the light in this dark and evil world.  If not us then who?

As you look around today you see more and more people walking away from God, the church, and compromising the word of God so that they fit into the world.  We are not to “fit” into the world.  We are to be children of God, going about our Father’s business, and be a light in this dark and dying world.

Many churches today are filled will such evil they are not a church at all.  They are breeding grounds for the devil and many have fallen for the lies.  Don’t you be one of them?

Many who have called themselves Christians are finding it difficult now to stand up and be counted for Jesus.  They don’t want the persecution that goes along with it and that persecution will get worse and worse.  Some don’t seem to think God is worth the fight, but Jesus thought you were worth the cost He paid to give you the availability to accept or reject Him.

Many have said they are Christians and would never walk away from God…until they do.  They would rather embrace the lies and deeds of the world than stand up and face whatever came their way while on this earth.  No one wants pain and suffering so many take the easy way out….they walk away.  The only thing is life is but a fleeting moment in time…eternity is forever.  What we do and choose to do or not do here on earth…we will either be rewarded one day for or face justice as we stand before God.  God is just…but God has rules.  God has told us, through His word, that there will be a great apostasy and many will walk away.  There will be an eternal consequence for those that reject Jesus.

There is evil and it is getting worse and worse upon this earth.  The cultures, the people, the customs, the immorality and the list goes on…evil!  Cultures with unholy moral ways that they want you to accept as good.  They tempt people, they program people, they call people who won’t fold every name in the book.  If you don’t go along with their evil you become the enemy.  A Christian does not “fit” into this society.  They don’t compromise the ways of this world.  They will stand on God’s word even if it means persecution or being prosecuted if they don’t follow the lies of the people.

People are bullied to believe and accept the lies they are being fed.  I don’t need to list them because we all know who the people are and we all know the lies they are pushing.  Even the government is trying to tell us we must do as the evil ones do or else…..no, we are not to be doing what others do if what they do is not what God says is right to be doing.

I refuse to “fit” into a society that goes against God and His word just to be able to not be bullied and to make morons feel better.  I would rather insult the world than insult my God and Savior.

I won’t be bullied into saying the lies they do, and accept the evil they put out there.  They pass laws to tell you that you must do this or that or else.  No, I do not have to accept these things. I am a child of God, and I will stand on His word.  He already gave me His play book and yes, living in this time could cost me even my life on earth…but I know where I shall be if I stand with God over man.  All the evil in this world that comes to do us in… should make us stand more and more in God’s power.  We are to be the light in this evil and dying world.  We can’t be that if we go along with evil and fall to the demands of the evil ones.

There is going to be a one-world-order when God allows it for a season of time.  It will be bad but we can still remain strong in Him.  The thing is many people, even Christians, will fall away.  It will be to their own destruction and many do not even understand that.

A society that criminalizes truth and those who believe the truth of God will face this earth’s prosecutions.  Its okay people if we do face prosecution for doing right.  God knows where we stand and has a place waiting for us no matter how bad it gets here on earth if we endure to the end.

You are stronger than you realize.  If we are truly a child of God then get right with God, and ask Him for the strength to endure whatever comes you way.  Maybe some even think that God will still allow them into heaven if they reject Him…and some will say, in their heart, they love God but God will just let it go and allow them into heaven.  No, that is not how it works.  God says if we reject Him then He will reject us.  Heaven is His rules: not man’s rules.  You can make all the excuses you can come up with…but you walk away from God then you rejected Him and one day He will reject you as well.

People believe that if they are a good/nice person even if they don’t believe in Jesus that God will just allow them into heaven.  First of all who says you are a “good person”?  It is not your view or man’s view that declares if you are good or not…it is God’s opinion.  God said none are good so that won’t get you into heaven.  Jesus is the way, the life and the truth…and it is only in Him being your Lord and Savior that will take you into heaven no matter what your opinion might be.  Your opinion is just that: yours!  It is God’s that matters.  You won’t cross into heaven no matter how many good deeds you do or how nice you seem.  That is not the requirement for heaven.  Jesus is our requirement.  As for me, I choose Jesus and He is my Lord and Savior.  He holds the keys to heaven…not us.

In this world people are desecrating the things of God and believe they have the right and duty to do so.  If they only understood the cost of what they are doing they would not do these things.

We, are true Christians must remain the remnant of God no matter how many fall away.  We are to be the light of the world and we can’t do that if we walk away and reject the very one who can save us and gave His life for us.  We must shine the light of Jesus so others can see Him and want Him in their life.  We can’t be moved to do wrong.  We can’t compromise God’s word to save us from any and all bad that comes our way for doing right in this world. Heaven is worth fighting for, and our duty while upon this earth is to fight for truth and to tell others about our Lord and Savior.  If not us then who?

A remnant is a left-over amount from a larger portion.  God assigned a high value to those of His people whom He had set aside for holy purposes, those He labels as “remnants.  No matter how many walk away from God…we can’t do that.  We must remain in Him no matter the cost in doing so.  Just think on this:  Even one who is faithful to the end is on the right path over a billion who walk away and miss heaven.

Noah and his family were the remnant saved out of the millions on the earth before the flood (Genesis 6). Only Lot and his two daughters survived the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, a very small remnant, indeed (Genesis 19). When Elijah despaired that he was the only one left in Israel who had not bowed down to idols, God assured him that He had reserved a remnant of 7,000 “whose knees have not bowed down to Baal and all whose mouths have not kissed him” (1 Kings 19).  There has always been a remnant.  God knows exactly who they are.  Are you part of the remnant in your day? We are not privy to how many real Christians there are and who is really of the remnant of God.  God knows each of us.  We can’t fake it, we can’t buy heaven, and we can’t con God.
God’s sovereign choice as to whom He will save can also be seen in the New Testament: “Isaiah cries out concerning Israel: ‘Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea, only the remnant will be saved. For the Lord will carry out His sentence on earth with speed and finality’” (Romans 9:27-28). This implies that great multitudes of the Israelites would be cast off. If only a remnant was to be saved, many must be lost, and this was just the point which Paul was endeavoring to establish. While the word remnant means “what is left,” particularly what may remain after a battle or a great calamity, in this verse, it means “a small part or portion.” Out of the great multitude of the Israelites, there will be so few left as to make it proper to say that it was a mere remnant.

Again, as stated at the beginning of this:  Of course, the most blessed remnant is that of the true Church, the body of Christ, chosen out of the millions who have lived and died over the centuries.

I choose Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  I am not ashamed to say that.  I choose to stand on the truth of God’s word no matter what it might cost me on this earth to do so.  What about you?  Will you stand with me?
