Post 75 Why I believe in God

Opinion!!!

Belief in the God of the Bible does not negate the use of reason; rather, it is when we seek God that He opens our eyes (Psalm 119:18)

The Bible never argues for the existence of God. God was, God is, and God will always be.

God has always existed.  No one created God.   For whatever God’s reason to create the heavens and the earth is known by Him.  He lets us know a lot of things, but not everything.   He doesn’t need us to exist, but we always need Him.    “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). The Bible begins with a pronouncement, not with an argument. There is a God who created all things even if you choose not to believe them.  For some, it must seem easier to believe they came from a monkey or a big bang.  Nope!  I choose to believe what God says. All things begin with God.

If you leave God out of the calculation, you have missed the most important fact of the universe. You are wrong at the very core of life, and therefore life itself will remain a mystery to you. If you choose to leave God out of your life and say He doesn’t exist you don’t threaten me.  I know what I believe and I fully stand on that.  What if you are wrong?  If you are wrong and choose to leave God out of your life and die…where do you think you will go.  Not even everyone who says, Lord! Lord!  Will get to heaven.  If God doesn’t know you personally and He is not your Lord why would God want you in heaven?  You can’t buy or earn your way to heaven either.  The only way to get to heaven is if Jesus is your Lord.  You have free will to reject Jesus, but your rejection of Him will be to your demise at some point.   God is the very center of the universe.  If you miss that and you can be right about a lot of other things and still be wrong where it matters most.  If I am the one who is wrong (and I am not), then at the end of my life I would cease to exist they say.  But if you are wrong you really won’t like where you will be.  If you don’t yet believe, or if you walked away, you can turn back.  God has never wanted anyone to go to hell.  You have an opportunity to change your destination.  Talk to God!

Romans 1:19-20 says it very clearly.  Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature have been seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. God has revealed himself very clearly so that no one can miss it. Even though men suppress the truth about God, they cannot annihilate the message. It is “plain” and “clearly seen” both in nature and in conscience. You have always been able to see God in what He has created even if you choose not to. God is all around us.  You can not get away from Him.  No matter where you look He is in it.   Everyone knows something about God!  No one can ever say, “I didn’t know” or “You didn’t make it clear,” because God made it abundantly and overwhelmingly clear. Look up! Look around!  Read the word of God!  You can see God everywhere.

You might claim you don’t see God, or even that you choose not to see Him, but that doesn’t mean He is not there.  We all have a God vacuum in our hearts that wants more of God.  It is just that someone doesn’t plug into the socket and turn the vacuum on. That vacuum is calling out to us…turn on!!!

The heavens preach the greatest sermon:  Psalm 19:1 says that “the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” You can believe it or reject it for that is your right, but you tell me that God is not real. Everything that God placed in the heavens is exactly where it should be.  If the sun was different we would be toast.  God placed everything exactly where it needed to be.  No “big bank or monkey stuff” could do that.  But, again, you are entitled to believe it if you choose to.

You are free to believe whatever you like. Opinions are free.  However, I believe in my Father in heaven: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  I believe that God crafted the universe as He so chose to do.  I don’t have to understand all of it.  I could live 1000 lifetimes and not even begin to know all created out there.  Our world points to God.  Why is it easier to deny God than to believe in Him?  Psalm 8:3 says, “When I consider the heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place.” God has left his fingerprints on the universe. Every rock, every tree, every river, every ocean, and every star in the sky-they all bear the Divine DNA that points back to the God who created all things. Yes, I choose to believe that.  Those that don’t believe or want to believe can call us who do believe whatever they want, but the truth is truth.

I have not seen a lot of this world.  Wasn’t blessed with money to go do that, but what I have seen during my time on earth amazes me.  God amazes me.  I love the ocean, I love greenery, and I love to look at the mountains, the valleys, and the rivers.  Wherever I have gone my God is right there.  Birds sing, dogs bark, birds chirp, and so on…God made them too.  I saw the sequoias before, the grand canyon, live in the desert, and so on…and know that it didn’t come from a big bang or a monkey line.  All of creation sings its praise to God.  I don’t like all that I see like sharks and animals that want to eat us, but God made them and they have a purpose on this earth.  How could you possibly miss the God of the universe?  He is everywhere.  His DNA is everywhere.  It is as though God took a seal and stamped His name on everything.  I don’t have to argue for God.  God made the

When you think about God (and you are calling yourself a Christian) do you believe in Him because you think He thinks as you do?  Interesting question.  Does He approve of the very things you think He should, or does He reject the things you reject?   Isaiah 55:8-9 makes it clear, “‘My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,’ says the Lord. ‘And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.’” (NLT) God is not us or at our level.  God is so much higher than us.  He gave us a book called the Bible.  It is to show us what we need to know, do, and don’t do.  It is us that need to do His will…not Him to do ours.  At times we align together…but if anything needs to be changed it is our view of the situation…not God’s!  We do not think the way God does: We can’t!  You can put the same facts, the same situation, and the same boundaries in front of 5 people let’s say, and they will see things differently.  Why?  Because we all have our own opinions, beliefs, and understanding of things.  This does not mean we get to take God out of context for we should never try to do that.  God is trying to get us to the place in our life where when we die or He comes for us we will be ready to be with Him.

Funny (not really) how we want to create our version of God in our minds.  We want God to do all we ask, and somehow God will just wave a magic wand and fall under our desires.  God doesn’t work like that.  We pray, we praise, and we ask…but God knows best.  Earth is a learning experience to get us ready.  Not everything we ask for is good for us, or the timing could be wrong.  Do you get mad at God if things don’t go your way, or do you have to wait…maybe a very long time? We are meant to do His will and not Him ours.  Even though, I don’t understand many things about God I trust that He has my best interests in His heart and that He is preparing me for my future home with Him.  I will never understand why people choose not to believe.  Why is it easier to disbelieve?  Again, what if you are wrong?  Shouldn’t you search out Jesus and see Him truly for yourself?  Not what someone else says…but you search the scriptures and pray about it.  I see a lot of churches that are so far from the world of God. All they do is say what people want to hear so that the people are not offended and can live in sin.  Whoa!  If you are offended by this message that is on you.  This is my opinion and I am entitled to my own.  I don’t have to change what I believe because someone doesn’t like it.  You don’t have to change either.  God has given you the free will to choose or reject Him.  I choose to believe and follow Him.  I sure wish that if you are one of the people who hate this message and say you don’t believe that at some point (sooner is better) you would meet Jesus, fall in love with Him…and then if I don’t meet you till heaven…I’d like to meet you there.  May God bless you, keep you, and bring you home in His timing.
