Post 45 God is a Good Father

Post 45: God is a Good Father

For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Psalm 84: 11

Yet is our walk blameless?  Do we make excuses for the wrongs we do?  Do we blame others instead of taking the blame for our actions?  We can believe that God doesn’t see what we do, what we think, and what we say…but He knows everything. You can’t hide from God so don’t even try to.  Your life will have more peace if you are honest with God.

I can daily go to God and tell Him in my heart whether what I am thinking is good, bad, or just crazy.  He will listen to me.  I can tell Him all the things I am going through, the pains I feel, the joy, the needs I think I have.  (my needs don’t always line up with His for me either)…yet, He listens.  Then the thing is after you do all that talking do you get up and leave or do you listen to God???????  Do you take the time to listen for God wants to talk back to each of us as well?  Well, I have many times just gotten up and didn’t take the time to hear what God was saying to the questions I have asked.  Why should He talk to me if I don’t listen to Him?

The Bible is a love letter from God.  It tells His heart for me, for you, for all of His creation.  We can follow and love what He says or we can reject what He says.  That choice is up to each of us.  What kind of questions do you ask God?  Do you give Him the “give me list”, or do you want to know Him personally and what He wants for you?

God is not a complicated God.  He is perfect in every way.  He is my Father: my Daddy in heaven and He doesn’t want me to go astray.  He wants to talk to me all the time and if I listen, really listen, and spend time with Him…I will hear Him.  Then another choice comes do I listen to Him or ignore Him? That is my choice and your choice to make.  God doesn’t force me to do His will for me.  He gives it to me and lets me make the choice.

God created us each with a purpose for our life.  Even in this crazy and evil world, we can have peace in God.  The deeper we allow God to take us the better we are.  This does not mean that we won’t have problems, sickness, hurts, or sorrows for we will because we live in a fallen world, and on this side of heaven we will face what is in the world.  We can partake in the garbage of this world or reject it all, but never reject God.

Each person looks around and they see what they believe that some have it all.  Rich! Famous! Athlete! Politician! Actor! Whatever the case might be each will face God and give an account of what they did on this earth.  God didn’t promise all would be rich and famous.  They are no better than the poorest of the poor, but they do have a different walk that God is working on in them.  Don’t try to be someone you aren’t.  Just allow God to lead you to where and what He wants you to be and stop worrying about what others have or don’t have.  God can and does use anyone’s situation and just because you see money and fame doesn’t mean it will last or that they are right with God and will get into heaven.   I’d rather have nothing and make it to heaven than have what the world calls rich and not make it there.

You can access him today right where you are.  Talk to God…. talk to God.  Spend time with Him.  Make time for Him.  Most of what we think each day is important isn’t.  It sure isn’t more important than hanging out with God.  May God bless you and your day.  God is a good, good Father!
