Post 5 You Have Authority

“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.”  Luke 10:19

So my question is this: Why don’t we use the authority we have in Christ Jesus?

We have “authority in spiritual conflict.  We are not to be walking around on the defensive.  We have authority from Christ himself. It is time we use it in every area of our life. Do you ever wonder just how many times things would have been different in your life if you would have used your authority against the enemy?

Do you even know the strategies of Satan?  The things he uses to get your to fall?  And if you do know them why don’t you stand against them?  The devil is a liar, a cheat, a deceiver, one that wants to destroy you, your marriage, your family, your job and all things you care about and he will go to any extent he can…that you allow him in the door.

The devil has seen everything we have done since we were born.  He walks around collecting junk on us so that when he wants he knows exactly what we fall for, who we fall for, where we go, how we do things and so on.  He uses the bait of these things to catch us.  Don’t fall for the bait.  Go the other way.

  1. Temptation

“The enemy strategy here is either to disfigure a Christian’s witness through public scandal, to gain some evidence through which his or her conscience can be accused and discouraged. Devil and his cohorts do not care if it is true as long as they can destroy your reputation.   The enemy knows the things he can tempt you with.  The things you have fallen for in the past and the things you have done wrong.  When the time is right in his eyes he brings them out and tempts you with them.  DON’T FALL FOR THE BAIT

  1. Deception

The devil is very good at brining negativity into your life.  He brings lies, deceptions, half-truths which are still lies, manipulations, counterfeits, people who deceive you, the media who lies about everything, those around you that have been brainwashed and so on and so forth,  They bring aversions to biblical truths.  The devil uses people to deceive you and because you trust them you fall for the lies of the devil. The way he works even your loved ones can be the ones that deceive you into believing the lies.  Don’t take the bait!

  1. Accusation

“Demonic agents call attention to the weaknesses of Christians and the churches in the minds of unbelievers and cause true Christianity to be labeled with the image of its own worst examples.   They bring accusations that will divide Christians in what they believe when Jesus is the one they should believe in, and the word of God must stand in truth and with no compromise. Those not strong in the Lord, the truth, and what is right over what is wrong…many will fall in this area. The devil loves to accuse Christians of things that are not true and brings, at times, very convincing lies as though they are truth

  1. Physical attack

“From data in the Gospels it appears that demonic agents can occasionally cause illness, at least psychological and neurological ailments.  But know this….God is bigger! And we need to fight in the spirit….We fight against the enemy in whatever form that the devil baits us with.

Example:

A person makes you angry.    They are just irritating beyond words possibly.  However…it is not them we need to fight against.  In the spirit we fight the battle not against flesh and blood.

The devil’s scheme is baiting you in an attempt to gain access to you and what you do and say in the situation.   You are in a spiritual war.  You need to fight it as such.  Don’t just look at what you see in the natural…look through the eyes of God and see who the real enemy to your life and situation are.

The truth is, there is a battle raging every single day in the spiritual realm for you soul, your life, your family and so on.  That battle is going on for your heart and the hearts of every other person on earth.  Know this:  God is trying to inspire people and draw them toward righteousness and toward Himself, to live consistent with Him so that His blessings can manifest in their lives.   But on the other hand, Satan, is waging all-out war trying to steal the hearts of people away from God. He wants to fill their hearts with his trash and corruption. And honestly, although most Christians recognize this to a degree, I do not think they realize how extreme the warfare really is and how much their actions are impacting to it.

The very choices people make, the things they say, the measures they take, and what they believe about what is happening around them determines whether God or Satan dominates in their life.

Who dominates your life?  Are you sure?

Very Important

Satan cannot control you outside of your will. He cannot do anything without your cooperation and consent.  But you need to recognize that you’re in a battle.  Many people choose not to believe that, but whether they do or not, the fact is that it’s taking place.

Your unwillingness to engage in battle doesn’t mean that the battle isn’t raging and that the battle is not real; it just means you’re going to lose.   But once you realize the battle is real, you can then learn to recognize what’s going on and take the proper action to improve your situation. You can resist the devil.  James 4:7 says,  “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”  Ephesians 6:10-12 reads,  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There is a battle going on each and every day in the spiritual world.  It is time to stand up and declare no more devil.  Fight in the spirit.  Pray in the spirit.  Now do it more!
