Ultimately our protection comes from God, however, we have a very big part to play in our hedge being there.
In life, we will probably many times over be attacked in the physical and in the spiritual. We are to take refuge in God 24/7 and stay always focused on Him. (Read Psalm 18:30)
We ask God to put a hedge of protection around us to keep not only us safe, but all those we care about as well. We don’t want our loved ones to be harmed. What we want for us, and our loved ones to be protected from, is evil, the devil, the lies, the sins, the unholy people who are out to destroy us. They are the devils/snakes of society and they have no real love for any of us.
Our hedge of protection must be complete around us. We are to put it up and never cross that line again. Our hedge of protection can save the life of all we hold dear in our life.
We want to protect our spouse, children, parents, marriage, integrity, morals, purity, and even what God has called us to do and to be.
A godly hedge protects the parameters, are safeguards, decisions, guidelines, principles, and standards that line up with God’s word, and not man’s word. God won’t fail us, but man can fail and lie to us all the time.
We must stay within the godly paraments to stay safe. It doesn’t mean nothing bad can happen, but we give each day to the Lord, and no matter what comes our way…God will walk through that day with us.
The serpent, the devil, and all those he is controlling are our enemies. If we break our hedge what happens is that we give the devil a way in…even if it seems to be a tiny way in…he is very good at breaking in and trying to take over.
John 8:44 NLT say, 44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies. (He lies, cheats, is a murderer, and loves to destroy people so they won’t go to heaven)
So what do we do? We talk to God and we begin to build our hedge of protection. We build it by God’s rules and not man’s so called rules. We build it strong and we check those parameters every day to see if there is anything we need to deal with. We must choose never to cross the line so our hedge is compromised in any way.
We must protect our loved ones. We lift up to God in prayer, and we do as God says to do. Man, will always try destroy us because most of mankind doesn’t like or want the truth. They want to live in the sins they have come to know. We can’t be like them any more. We must close all doors that keep us from our relationship with God. We can’t even open any part of our hedge or we will allow the evil in. Don’t break the hedge. Trust God and daily go to Him to see if there is anything for which you need to be doing to stay safe from the enemy.
