Sitting here contemplating how to answer this question. Well, not really because I know the answer to it…God’s opinion trumps all opinions. However, there are a lot of people who just don’t get it, don’t want to get it, and just want to argue about it.
Well, the first thing one needs to know is God is the authority on everything. He defined right and wrong, good and bad, and evil. Since God is perfect I will believe Him. That is my choice.
Do our personal opinions ever change what God says is right or wrong? Absolutely not! God has all authority and God created this world. Even if you want to believe you came from a monkey or a big bang….I believe God’s version over yours. Oh, you have a right to believe whatever it is you believe, but feelings and opinions that contradict the word of God…won’t change my view of what God says, and won’t stop the truth.
As I look around at this crazy world we are living in all I see are opinions, lies, cheating, fraud, corruption, and great violence. I have heard and seen the opinions of the poor and I have heard the opinions of so-called leaders who are so immoral (per God’s Bible) that corruption runs through their bones. They are not there to tell the truth or to help people but they are doing the devils’ work. You can’t watch tv because it is all lies and fake news to corrupt your mind into believing lies. You can’t watch TV or go to a movie because it is filled with immorality, lies, deceptions, and filthy language. If you complain you are the one called wrong. Foot note here: you know the elections are not a true election. People cheat…but that is up to God to deal with.
As in the public domain people’s opinion changes, lawmakers and judges create and adjust laws that reflect people’s opinions about morality and impact how people interact with each other. But lawmakers, judges, and man’s opinions don’t cut it with God. God has defined right and wrong and it will stand no matter what man thinks they are doing or doing.
Man makes laws, people vote…and people are stating their opinion. However, everything that goes against God’s word is their opinion and not God’s. God has a book He gave us to explain right and wrong, consequences for actions, and what will happen to anyone who lives in sin and doesn’t confess and repent. God wants to forgive people, but many people don’t want to have God in their life and they have the right to reject God.
What if your perspectives/beliefs and plans disagree with the clear teachings of our Creator, revealed in the Bible? If God and His inspired Word has the ultimate authority to define issues of human morality and behavior? Or do humans have that right?
So let’s ask this: If the majority of people declare something and they make a law declaring something does it make it right? With God? NO! God has stated in His word what He expects of us, what we are to do and not to do. Even if every person did agree on something…would it make it right with God if God said it was wrong? No!!!
People are being forced to declare certain things like what people want to be called. (the woke pronoun crap). They tell us men can have babies now…not! No matter what part a person cuts off or adds to their body male is still male DNA, and women’s DNA is still women’s DNA. We are told we have to accept gay rights, transgenders (and that they can go in girls bathrooms, gyms, and play against them and we must accept it. No!!! We are told we must accept abortions because that is what people want…to kill innocent babies not only in the womb now…but some places they can do it after it is born. We are told that they have the right to kill that baby because it is their body. No, the body is yours, but that baby has its own body and that body belongs to that baby. If you don’t want to get pregnant stop sleeping around. We are called racist and every other name out there as well. They let criminals out of jail/no bail/ and that person just goes back out committing crimes. Those criminals lie, steal, rape, murder, destroy people’s things and they get away with it. The left wants you to believe everything is the republican’s fault…and Trumps. Not! People need held accountable for their own actions and stop blaming others for you deeds. We are bombarded with hate on TV, fake news, TV shows, show, movies, and everywhere else. If you want a gay lifestyle you will, but I don’t want to hear or see it. That is my opinion. I know it is a wrong lifestyle because our creator says it is. His opinion matters more than those who want to shove it on us. There is so little morality anymore out there. People don’t care about people. If you don’t believe what they do you become the wokes idea of vengeance against them. People worship movie stars, athletes, the idiot politicians who are lying through their teeth, and so on and so forth. Why are you not worshipping the God of heaven who has offered you eternal life?
If the majority decides a particular matter is either right or wrong, does that trump what is defined in the Bible? No, it doesn’t. The Bible is our authority and no matter how many laws, rules, and regulations our country lays on us…if it goes against God’s word…I’ll take God’s word over it.
What about even those who will watch a Bible story at the movies or on TV, and they will think what they watched is absolutely true when, in fact, it could all be made up lies. Why don’t you go and pick up that dusty Bible open it up and read it. Not just skim it, but devour it. That Bible has the power to show you the truth, change you, and give you the opportunity of having eternal life. Why would you not want that? Do you, like some, think hell will be this big party or something? Hell is called hell for a reason. I have seen many a movie telling a “bible” story that just wasn’t what happened. The thing is you need to know the truth…Read! Study ! Learn!
Despite human skepticism, God’s purposes will prevail. God will always prevail. God is love, truth, and light. Rejection of the Bible as the source of all authority—even by the majority as is the case in most Western nations—in no way invalidates the truths in God’s Word. You can’t change God’s word/truth. Oh, you might try, and you might deceive people…but change it…no!!!!
Other people say they accept the Bible but reject sections from it because the contents do not agree with their own personal beliefs. They play smorgasbord with the Bible. They pick and choose what they want and ignore the rest or declare it wrong.
“The LORD brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He makes the plans of the peoples of no effect. The counsel of the LORD stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalm 33:10-11).
God’s thoughts and ways are far superior to human ingenuity and thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9), and He emphatically states, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it” (verse 11, emphasis added throughout).
So you want to reject God’s word because you don’t like what it says and you want to live in sin and think that is okay. How long do you think you will get away with that? Every breath you and I take is on borrowed time for the moment God says our time is up…it is up. Where we are that very moment in our walk with Him will determine our eternal life.
Human rejection of His Word will not alter the supreme outcome of God’s purpose. It is not the will of man that ultimately prevails, but what God has planned (Isaiah 14:24, 26-27).
If your government were to tell you that you had to lie, steal, cheat, murder, rape, riot, and so on…would you do it? Many have especially over the last few years and it is getting worse. Our government branches are very corrupt and go after the good guys while allowing the bad ones to go. I don’t have to mention names I know you know them. I use to be a democrat but I never saw them do anything good for people. I saw them lie, cheat, and deceive and I changed parties. They never really helped the small people they just wanted their votes so they had more and more power, and especially give them freebees and they will vote for you. Free is not free. It cost someone who actually goes to work to give you what they earned for their own family.
God’s power supersedes all human government and institutions. He says there is no God like Him who declares “the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will do all My pleasure’” (Isaiah 46:9-10). I will accept what God says over what anyone else says even if there are consequences for standing on God’s word.
If you tell me I must accept the lies of this administration or any administration…no I don’t have to. God’s ways trump theirs and will stand on God’s word. No human authority, no matter how powerful, can overrule, supplant or supersede the will of God.
Do you love God? Do you say you love God? Then are you doing as God says or do you go around picking and choosing what you want to believe?
“He who says, ‘I know Him,’ and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this [keeping His commandments] we know that we are in Him” (1 John 2:4-5).
People’s opinions—arguing or disagreeing with the commandments—do not change their importance in God’s eyes. God is God and we are not.
Human organizations and governments can define what constitutes a marriage and the laws that govern the marriage union, but if it says in the Bible that marriage is wrong that marriage will still be wrong in the site of God. (Gays for one) Don’t get mad at me for saying this. God said it was wrong. That doesn’t mean that people won’t do it because people will do whatever they want even if it could cost them eternity with God.
But the Bible states that marriage is a divine institution, ordained by God at creation, and defined by the immutable and unchangeable laws of God. After He created the first man from the dust of the ground, “The LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him’” (Genesis 2:18). The Creator then united the first man and woman as husband and wife, saying, “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (verse 24). God did not say man and man, or woman and woman, nor did God say several spouses. One man and one woman. God, who created the marriage relationship in the first place, is the ultimate authority on what constitutes a marriage.
Is it okay for people to blaspheme God’s name in everyday speech. No. Yet, that is what we hear day in and day out. How many F-bombs are in a program that your kids will watch? What are they watching on their phone or that lap top in their room? Are they watching porn? Who are they talking to? As for blaspheming God’s name…. the Third Commandment clearly states: “You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain [misuse it in a useless, trivial and thoughtless manner], for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain” (Exodus 20:7). We are to hallow (honor highly) God’s name (Matthew 6:9).
God told the prophet Jeremiah that when the people asked him why troubles were increasing in the nation, he should answer: “You have done worse than your fathers, for behold, each one follows the dictates of his own evil heart, so that no one listens to Me” (Jeremiah 16:12). How many today really listen to and seek to obey God? “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death” (Proverbs 14:12; 16:25).
When our Creator judges, He bases His judgment and justice on what He has spoken in His Word: “He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). All of us will stand before God and give an account of our life. What will you say?
Why does anyone not see that when we follow God’s ways we are living like we should be living, and even if life is hard here on earth when we get to heaven it will be amazing. It is not difficult to follow God’s laws on morality.
We should forsake our own ways, thoughts and opinions if they are contrary to God’s righteous ways, and “seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” If we do, God’s Word is sure: “Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:6-7).
Despite what people’s viewpoints may be, it’s God’s words that will count for eternity! Are you going to live for Jesus and right, or choose to live for self? Only you can decide for you. Only you can choose right over wrong, good over evil. Only you can choose to be a child of God by your choice. God doesn’t change. It is us who must change if we want to be right in the sight of God.
