Post 17: Tick Tock

Tick Tock:  Time is about up!

 Isaiah 5:20

Don’t call evil good!
In this world, people are choosing darkness over the light in their life.  What they are doing is they are choosing to identify and declare that sin is good and good is evil. God told us and warned us this would happen in the end times.  Just look around and you will see this is all around us.  It is not going away.  So, what do we do?  Maybe this will help you decide for yourself your part in this.

Proverbs 17:15

“He who mocks (ridicules) the poor reproaches his Maker; He who rejoices at calamity will not go unpunished”.

There are so many people out there that love the injustice in the world, that love to see others hurt to get whatever it is they think they want and need. Some people love to riot, loot, burn things of other people, beat people up, and just cause out and out pain and suffering.   There are so many that just think they are better than other people and treat people horribly.   It is pathetic and horrendous to justify wickedness and condemn justice.  I look around at society today and see all the injustice, the hate, the corruption, the manipulation, the race hatred, the deceptions, the evil, and all the rest. It is messed up when criminals have rights and law-abiding citizens continue to have their rights removed. Rise church of God!  Stand on God’s word.  Know your enemy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are not (yet) a Christian I encourage you to meet Jesus.  He is awesome.

Abortions and murder

Infanticide is murder!  It is wrong!  Murder is always a choice.  A choice you don’t want to make.  The hurt brings to the loved ones is overwhelming.  The hurt brings to the soul of the one doing it…they don’t see the harm to their very soul. There is always, and I repeat always a better choice. There are consequences when you make the wrong choices.

infanticides

murder,

taking of life,

assassination,

homicide,

manslaughter,

liquidation,

elimination,

putting/doing to death,

execution,

dispatch

Defining an act that ends the life of a child as a “choice” implies to the person doing it that there are no moral consequences in that choice, but nothing could be further from the truth.  There are always consequences to bad choices in life.

Psalm 139:13-14

13 For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

God allowed that child to be placed in the womb of its mother. He decides whom the child’s parents are, where they will be born, what color their skin will be etc.  It is a marvelous work of God and God loves that child.  No one has the right to kill that child. This child is innocent blood to God.

Proverbs 6:17

“Hands that shed innocent blood” are hated by God.

Exodus 21:22-25

22 “When men strive together and hit a pregnant woman, so that her children come out, but there is no harm, the one who hit her shall surely be fined, as the woman’s husband shall impose on him, and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 But if there is harm,[a] then you shall pay life for life, 24 eyes for an eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 burns for burn, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.

The Old Testament provided for the execution of one who accidentally killed a child in utero, indicating that God regards the unborn life as equally precious as the lives of every other human. Abortion is wrong no matter what society says to you.  God’s word is His word and stands above all.

Homosexuality:
“Gay” previously meant “happy”. That is not what it means nowadays.  God says homosexuality is a sin no matter what you think or what people say.  Oh, you can live your life like this, but this is not God’s best for your life.  However, your sinning against God does not now or ever mean I must approve or accept your or anyone’s lifestyle if that lifestyle is against what God says is wrong/sin. I won’t be mean to you for having that lifestyle, but I don’t have to agree with it. People want to justify their sins and then make us tell them it is okay and feel we must approve or we are the ones in the wrong.  If we don’t agree with them then they call us horrible names.  Do you agree with God’s word?

Jude 5-7

The people of Sodom are still burning because of the strange flesh they pursued.

Jude 5-7:

5 Now I want to remind you, although you once fully knew it, that Jesus, who saved[a] a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe. 6 And the angels who did not stay within their position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day— 7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire,[b] serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Genesis 19:4-5

But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. 5 And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.”

God takes homosexuality so seriously that He destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and all those living in it.  Don’t you think you should be concerned with your lifestyle?

Romans 1:20-27

God perceives homosexuality as unnatural, whether practiced by men or women.

20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been perceived, ever since the creation of the world,[a] in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. 21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,[b] 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Homosexuality will keep one out of heaven, but people can change! It’s not genetic no matter what you hear or wants to believe. If this sin is about you God wants you to confess and repent of your sins.  We can all change and God can hope for us no matter what our sins might be.

Fornication:

Unmarried people have sex and call it “lovemaking”, and they say they have the right to. Whether having a one-night stand, a long-term relationship, or living together in the eyes of God it is a sin.  They don’t think there is anything wrong with living with someone they are not married to and many people are in this situation.  The thing is people in this situation can miss heaven and drag the other person right to hell with them. They call it love…but God calls it to sin.  Many out there are living in this situation and don’t think marriage vows are right “for them”.  God has an order for life.  Marriage is one of them.  When we live outside what God says we are living in sin.

1st Corinthians 6:18-20

18 Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin[a] a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20 for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.

Sexual immorality must be fled from.

When the temptation arises, the godly will run away from fornication, as Joseph ran from Potiphar’s wife.

1st Thessalonians 4:3-8

For this is the will of God, your sanctification:[a] that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you knows how to control his own body[b] in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one transgresses and wrong his brother in this matter because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you. For God has not called us for impurity but in holiness. Therefore whoever disregards this, disregards not man but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.

Hebrews 13:4

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

God does approve of sex. He created it.  He wants you to have it…but He wants it to be when you are married so that you become one with your spouse.  Marriage is the only appropriate outlet for that need. All other sex within any relationship is condemned. Millions have been wrong and sinned, but our God wants you to be right with Him.  He says to go to Him and confess your sins…and then go and sin no more.  If you are in this type of situation are you willing to change?  If not…why not?

Lewdness

Boy, have things changed in society.  Now, turn your attention to things like “Las Vegas, or other strip-type clubs and bars, etc.) where people think of these places as naked or nearly naked women (and in some clubs men) gyrate for the opposite (or same-sex).  They say things like what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas….THINK AGAIN.  God knows everything that is going on there (or anywhere else) for that matter.  You can’t hide this from God no matter how hard you try.  God doesn’t call sin okay just because it is you doing it.  Nor does He call it okay because society says it is now okay and just a bit of pleasure.  That pleasure hurts your walk with God.

This also includes all the bars and party places where liquor and drugs are as well! Along with all the men and women out there to “hook up” in some way.

Matthew 5:27-30

27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ 28 But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman (or man) with lustful intent has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body is thrown into hell. 30 And if your right-hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body goes into hell.

Lustful thoughts are as wicked as adulterous actions, according to Jesus. The men (and women) who go to these places invite more sin into their life and are sinning. But you can change, and God can help you change

Romans 13:13

13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy

The women (and men) who strip and are “loose” are sinning, and the people watching are sinning as well.

Profanity

By referring to the vulgar speech as “adult” it is implied that children ought to grow into it, learning how to cuss as they grow older, but there is nothing mature, in the least, about talking like that. I remember growing up (way back in the day)…kids said a few words now and then but not like today in our society.  You can hardly watch a thing on TV, at the movies, or just go to the grocery store, etc…where you don’t hear “f-you”.  People, what is it about that word that people think every sentence they say nowadays must have in it?  The filth coming out of young people’s mouths, the disrespect they show, the stuff being fed to them even in school, in games, and hanging with the wrong crowd is just plain wrong.  What is wrong with people?  I’ve heard parents screaming vulgarities at their kids in the grocery store…so what do you think the message is to their kids?  If the parents use this kind of language like it is an everyday thing…what do they think their children’s life will be like? What do you think kids will be like also if there is no respect in the home?  What do you think your kids will be like if they see you drunk and on drugs?  What do you think they will be like if you cheat? Lie? Steal? Etc?  How about what your kids would be like if they see you read your Bible and pray over them?

Colossians 3:8

But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.

“Filthy language” must be “put off” because it is inconsistent with the life of one who has been raised with Christ.”

Ephesians 4:29;

Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place but instead let there be thanksgiving

Ephesians 5:4

29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

A “corrupt word” cannot impart “necessary edification”, and “coarse jesting” is “not fitting”.

James 3:2-12

For we all stumble in many ways. And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. If we put bits into the mouths of horses so that they obey us, we guide their whole bodies as well. Look at the ships also: though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are guided by a very small rudder wherever the will of the pilot directs. So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things.

How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire! And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life,[a] and set on fire by hell.[b] For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. 10 From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers,[c] these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring pour forth from the same opening both fresh and saltwater? 12 Can a fig tree, my brothers, bear olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Neither can a salt pond yield fresh water.

We must learn to control our tongues. For many this is not easy because they hear it at home, they hear it at school, they hear it at work, they hear it in the movies, and in the games, they play and they think this is a normal talk.  It is not normal nor is it in line with God’s word.

Lazy People

There is nothing either well or fair about confiscating the earnings of one party and transferring them to another who will not work.  God tells us each to work.  He did not say you sit home and let someone pay your way.  He did not tell anyone to take your money and give it to me, or my money and give it to you or anyone else. We are to care for our own family.  Now, understand some people do need help.  Disabled people, people with diseases, people who truly lost their jobs (for a time)…those people need our help, but those that can work…should work and care for their family, pay their bills, pay for their education, pay their medical bills and so on. The government is not doing people a good deed by paying their way and telling them somehow, they deserve free stuff and all.  What they are doing is controlling them and they don’t even understand it.    They look at “free” and that is what they see.  Everything cost someone something.  Also, why should you get someone’s money from people who went out and worked for their money?  So what if someone is rich? If you could be rich you wouldn’t want someone taking your money so why do you feel you should take theirs?

2nd Thessalonians 3:10

10 For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.

Those who will not work do not deserve to eat. The way the world is set up with God is that He has given us the ability to earn a living.  Maybe you don’t make a fortune but do an honest job.

Ephesians 4:28

28 Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his own hands, so that he may have something to share with anyone in need.

Those who are working should be considerate of those unable. We can always do a good deed for someone.  We don’t all have money to give away but we can give time, and talent, and be there to encourage someone.

Acts 2:44-45

44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had to need

Where there is a collective sharing, it is among “believers”, that is – in the church, not a political jurisdiction within geographic boundaries that forces people to give up what they worked for and give it to others who won’t work. Christians should be in a state where they want to help their brothers and sisters in Christ.

Tolerance

The sinners of this generation demand their behavior be accepted and celebrated, accusing those who do not do so of harming them in some way.  I am not harming anyone else with my views and opinion.  God gave me a mouth, and a brain, and I can understand God’s word.  I do not have to go along with what you believe nor you me, but what you believe will not dictate to me what I can believe.  I do not have to approve of your lifestyle if your lifestyle does not line up with God’s word. I do not have to be “tolerant” of my way of life, declare it is okay, or be forced to go along with it.  I won’t….I can’t.   You can choose to live your life however you do, but you won’t bully me into submitting to you or your way of life. I serve God and if He has called it to sin/wrong…then no matter what you say, no matter what the government says…it is still wrong.  I also won’t call you any gender but male or female because that is what God created. If you think you have another so-called gender take it up with God!

Romans 1:32

32 Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

The apostle Paul strongly implied that those who approve of evildoers are as guilty as the evildoers.

Proverbs 28:4

Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive against them.

If we intend to keep the law, then we must contend with the wicked, not tolerate them, and not compromise God’s word so as not to offend someone.  Everyone, any more, is offended by something. It won’t get any better.  But………….. I am not here to make you feel better for sinning against my God.  I won’t go along with your sins.  We have all sinned and fallen short, but we should be confessing our sins to God, repenting of them (turning from them), and being right with God.  You are not the one who watches over my soul…God is.  You are not the one who died for me….God did.  You are not the one who gave me chance after chance to change…God did.  I choose God over making people feel better about their sinning.  I know I stand before God to give an account of my life and so do you.  I sinned a lot over the years and God kept directing me to change and drew me to Him.  I’ll follow Him…not this country who has gone quite mad.  The devil might be stirring your pot and has a hold on you, but you can get free.  Ask Jesus into your life and do things His way.  You do not have to live in sin.  However, that is your choice.  You can continue living in sin it is your choice…but know this there are consequences for sin.  If you are not right with God before you die (and you do not know the day or hour)…you will face judgment…and God can’t be bought or paid for.  He is the only righteous judge there is.  My advice to anyone sinning out there in the above ways, or in any way…it is time to get right with God now.  Don’t put it off for tomorrow is not promised to you.

Judging
People who don’t like to be told they’re wrong will exercise their judgment (poorly) to accuse the ones correcting them of being judgmental. They won’t search for the truth that can save them.  They like sinning and to be honest for a season sin can feel good, but one day you wake up and find that you wish you had stopped sinning a long time ago.

John 7:24

24 Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”

You don’t know their circumstances.  Don’t judge them because they are poor or rich.

Matthew 7:1-5

7 “Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.

When He said not to judge, His point was that hypocritical judgment is wrong, not that all judgment is wrong.  Just because a man with a log sticking out of his eye is poorly equipped to remove dust from the eye of another does not mean dust in the eye should be left there.

Proverbs 12:1    12 Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.

The Holy Spirit inspired the word “stupid” to describe one who hates to be corrected. How many of us at some point then was pretty darn “stupid”?

Proverbs 3:11-12

11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline or be weary of his reproof,
12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,    as a father the son in whom he delights.

Correction derives from love.  Oh, how many times have we overlooked someone sinning so we can just get along with them?  How many times did we look the other way? How many times did we know it was wrong but said nothing?  How many?

Isn’t it time for us to confront those we love even if they get upset with us for speaking out?  If not us…who?  If not now….when?  Sometimes we must make that decision to confront a situation or behavior that could very well cost someone their soul and the fact that they could miss heaven.  Not in a mean way…but in a loving way.  Not the blame game, but the love game.  Who has God wanted you to confront?  Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be in person.

Legalism
Those who take seriously (want rule after rule after rule) the commands of the Lord are often called legalists as if keeping the law is somehow a bad thing. We don’t live under the law in the New Testament, but the law tells us what we do right or wrong so that we can change if we need to.  We don’t change to make people feel better but to have an honest walk with the Lord. All the laws in the Old Testament are summed up in one in the New Testament: Love God and others.  When we do this, we won’t steal from them, lie to them, cheat on them, deceive them, hurt them to further ourselves, or anything else.  We will love them and want the best for them.  That’s not legalism…that is love. We surely are under grace and I am so very thankful…but the law we learn we need God in our lives to be able to do right over wrong. So many churches demand legalism but know this Jesus set you free from legalism.

1st Corinthians 9:21

21 To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law.

Do you know that if you want to follow the law then you must follow every speck of it…over 600 laws in the Old Testament.  No, I’ll take God’s grace and have it all summed up in one…love God and others.  Love covers a multitude of sins.

Galatians 6:2

Bear one another burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

James 1:25

25 But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

James 1: 2

Count it all joy, my brothers,[a] when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Just because the Law of Moses has been changed to the new covenant does not mean there remains no law, for the law of Christ is in effect.  Love God…love others!
 Hebrews 5:9

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

Colossians 3:6

On account of these the wrath of God is coming.[a]

Jesus saves the obedient, but the disobedient will be punished. You do not want to fall under the wrath of God.  Get right with God right now while you have the opportunity.

Look Around
Everywhere we look, things of God and the Bible are ridiculed, while sin is glorified. It has gotten just as bad as it was in the time of Sodom and Gomorrah.   If God brought on them punishment and death…don’t you think He will bring upon us living today the same.  The only thing is He is giving us time to change and get right with Him.  His clock is ticking.  We don’t know when the alarm will go off. Our world has gone crazy and evil is everywhere we look.  We can make things right but will we?  There are still good people in this world trying to do good things, live right, and be a light for the kingdom of God.  It is difficult to know or see them at times with the world so out of wack. Each of us has an opportunity today to get our life right with God.  Right now!  Don’t put it off for tomorrow is not promised to any of us.  We don’t know the day or hour but we do know that God does and when that alarm in heaven goes off….there won’t be even one more minute to change your mind to do right, live right, and have a relationship with God.  Do it now while you can.

Tick tock!
