Post 33 Pray Psalm 91 (my favorite Psalm)

Where do you go when you need help?  Who can possibly help you more than God can?  No one.  God is the ultimate help in time of need. God placed Psalm 91 exactly where He wanted it to be for us….in the Bible.  It is there to help us and guide us.

When we think of this Psalm our hearts should tell  us that it is a prayer of protection we can call on at any time, in any place, and under any circumstance.

Right now in America (and every where) people are suffering and there is confusion and evil all around us.  It is time to grab Psalm 91 and pray it as never before and keep praying it.  For thousands of years people have been praying this in times of need and today is no different.  The world is in dire troubles as God told us it would be in the last days…yet, we have to live here until we die or Jesus returns for us while we are alive.  I cannot even tell you how many times that Psalm 91 in my life has brought me comfort in the middle of the storms.  The world is in trouble, family of God, and we need as much help as we can possibly get.

Psalm 91 may be the most important passage of Scripture for the days ahead. It is where we can go and claim the promise of God to be with us no matter what is going on in our life.  The reality of supernatural protection is vital for the times of supernatural events on the horizon. Faith is not a last resort, but a first response! Think about this: We can go to people and they might help a bit in areas of our life, but God Almighty is always here for us, always on time, always cares, and is never to busy for us.

Psalm 91

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
    will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
    he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
    and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
    He will shelter you with his wings.
    His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
    nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
    nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
    though ten thousand are dying around you,
    these evils will not touch you.
Just open your eyes,
    and see how the wicked are punished.

If you make the Lord your refuge,
    if you make the Most High your shelter,
10 no evil will conquer you;
    no plague will come near your home.
11 For he will order his angels
    to protect you wherever you go.
12 They will hold you up with their hands
    so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
13 You will trample upon lions and cobras;
    you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

14 The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
    I will protect those who trust in my name.
15 When they call on me, I will answer;
    I will be with them in trouble.
    I will rescue and honor them.
16 I will reward them with a long life
    and give them my salvation.”

When you look at God’s word what do you see?  Do you see that His word is filled with great promises for believers?  Do you see that it offers you safety/protection for the storms ahead?  If you are a child of God then this Psalm is for you and those you love.

Whatever our need is…God is here for us.  Whether it is protection from contagious illnesses, horrific accidents, or unexpected attacks, Psalm 91 gives us scripture after scripture assuring us that the Lord is watching over us to keep us and to deliver us from all kinds of evil— seen and unseen. God put this Psalm here for us to help us.  Throughout life we trust many things we should not trust, but the very one we can always trust…many put Him off and do their own things and find out later if only they did things God’s way what time they would have saved suffering.

You no longer need to live in fear of what will happen in this world no matter how bad it seems or how bad it might get.  If Jesus is our Lord then we have the creator of all on our side.   God knows what He is doing.  He gave us His Holy Spirit to live in us to help us…so do not turn Him away.  Embrace Him.

The world is bad now and it will get worse and worse.  If you don’t have Jesus, you will face things you never would have had to face alone.  Do not be paralyzed by fear and uncertainty…but hang onto God and His word and declare and decree God’s word over your life and your family’s life.

How can you walk in the Lord’s protection today?  Well, you pray and you find God’s will through His word/the Bible. You pray His word over your situation.  You saturate your soul in God and believe with all your heart.  God placed His promises in His word to help us.  Let Him help you.

Now, guard your heart.  Guard it well.  Close the doors that should not be open, and allow God to open doors that had been shut to you.   Allow God to take root in your soul…and water your soul with His word, His ways, and His timing.  Let the anchor of God keep you in place.  I know the world can be a scary place.  We look around and see chaos all around, but you can live unafraid if you give your heart to Jesus and ask Him to care for you.

Another way is to pray and speak the promises of Psalm 91 over yourself and your loved ones. When you do this, you are telling the Lord that your trust and depend on Him to watch over you and your family and to keep you safe. The Bible tells us that it is better to put our trust in the Lord than in the strongest and mightiest of men (see Ps. 118:8–9). God loves us, His kids, and gives us many chances to get right and stay right with Him.  Isn’t it time we do that?

His word also tells us that God gives grace—His undeserved favor, blessing, and protection—to the humble (see 1 Pet. 5:5)—to those who acknowledge their need of Him. Well, I don’t know about you and your walk with God but I don’t want to even go five minutes without God in my life and in my family’s life.

Let God know your heart.  Follow Him with all of your heart and don’t think you can keep hidden compartments in your life.  God has amazing vision.  He knows you inside and out.  He wants each of us to live for Him, depend on Him, and do the things He asks us to do.  Let God position you where He wants you to be, with whom He wants you to be, in the job He wants you to have, and being the person He wants you to be.  If you don’t have a relationship with Him then how can you live as God desires you to live?

It is time, family of God, to pray Psalm 91 with more depth than you ever have.  Time are hard and going to get worse….pray this Psalm over your life and the life of your loved ones as never before….pray it on steroids!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

For my loved ones:  Abba Father, I declare that in all things, You are my strength and my shield. You alone are my family’s unshakable refuge and fortress.  Lord, keep my family safe

Abba Father, thank You that as every member of my family and I go about our daily lives, we can rest, assured of Your protection over our lives. We look to You to keep us safe from all kinds of accidents, mishaps, and events that may harm us. We ask you to put a hedge of protection around us and we thank You that You are constantly watching over us, placing us at the right place at the right time with the right people. I declare that even if a thousand fall at our side, and ten thousand at our right hand, we shall be protected from every evil. Truly, as Your Word declares, no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Thank You, Father, for going ahead of us today (and everyday) and keeping us safe and secure in your hands!  In Jesus name. Amen.
