Post 14…February 2023…Honesty

  • God is the source of all truth—He is completely honest. He never lies, and He desires that we, similarly, practice honesty in our lives. Jesus said that Satan “was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.

Do you want to be honest with God?  I sure do.  Yet, sometimes I think many of us, at times, believe we can get around that with God.  Might work for our earthly parents, but God knows everything…however, He wants us to be honest with Him and tell Him everything. We must be vulnerable with Him because He wants to turn our heartaches into triumphs, but He won’t force His way in. He knows the struggles each of us has in life and He is there to walk through it with us.

It is time to tell God just how you feel and why.  You do understand that we don’t know or see everything like God does.  We pretty much run of feelings where God runs on facts.

God commands us to be truthful, but most people are not truthful.  Some say that they can’t be because they don’t want to make someone feel bad, or hurt their feelings.  UMMM!  Don’t think that is what God is saying.

What is needed is believers to be truthful and examine their life to see if anything in there life needs to change.  When we lie even a little bit we somehow destroy the entire picture before God.  God hates lying.  9Reve 21:8, 22:15)  He made one of the Ten commandments to not tell lies. (Ex 20:16)

1 Cor 11:31 ESV says, “But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.

That is amazing.  I’d rather do my part in this than wait for God to judge me because I wouldn’t do it.

We make decisions each and every day.  Wouldn’t it just be wiser to look before we make them to see if it is okay with God?  We do have the ability to speak the truth…so why don’t we do it all the time?

So what do we do about those “little white lies?  What do we do about all the exaggerations we say?  What do we do about trying to make other people think we are more important than we are in God’s eyes.

We start doing things God’s way and just start telling the truth.  Do we want to offend man or do we want to offend God?  Who are we trusting in our life when we lie instead of telling the truth?

It is with each and every decision we make each day that we have a choice to tell the truth and do right, or tell a lie and do wrong.  One wrong decision, by choice, can change our life and our destiny.

We go to work and someone is paying us to actually work and do a job they hired us for.  Do we sit and find ways to not do our job, or slack off.  Do we talk about our boss and others behind their back?  Many do this and it is wrong.

So when in our life is it (or could be difficult) to tell the truth?  When sin is in our life and it would be revealed, when our reputation would be in trouble, when just telling the truth could get us into trouble, and so on.

How do we tell the truth?  Just tell it!!!  Hate sin and lying because they are sin.  Run from those you have been hanging out with if they go around sinning and lying.  Love the truth because God loves the truth.

One of the greatest moral issues that we all struggle with is that of telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

However, this is what God wants from His kids.  If only we would take every thought captive before opening our mouth.  If only we would all just tell the truth all of the time.  But…………..mankind doesn’t always do that.  If you find that you lied about something…go to God and confess it, repent…and ask God to help you change.  Don’t stay living in the sin of lying.  God really does hate lying.  Honesty is the best policy!

So now, I want to ask God to bless you, keep you, provide for you, teach you truths and give you help and knowledge to overcome whatever comes your way.  One of our biggest problems when it comes to telling a lie is we don’t take it serious like God does, and we don’t think that there are consequences for our own choices in this.  There is always in God’s timing consequences for us sinning.  We can change our destiny, but we have to do it God’s way.  Let us begin!

God bless you
