How much do you know about the Last days? What will be the final day? Let us reason together.
Are we truly living in the last days? Yes, we most definitely are living in the last days. Are we ready for Christ’s return? We wait for Him to come and take us home. But, what are the last days?
The last day refers to the upcoming future of hope we have—the concluding, ending, climaxing, closing, capping of the day of God’s ultimate salvation and wrath being revealed for all to see (see 1 Thess. 5:1–11). We are told in Scripture that though we know this day is coming, we cannot know the day or the hour of the last day itself (cf. Matt. 24:36). So, no matter who tries to tell you the exact day of the Lord’s return…they are lying! God says that no one knows but God. So, don’t take the bait and believe the lies that people put out there. You can always and should always believe God.
So, what are the last days, and what do they refer to? It refers to the period of time we are now in—between Christ’s death/resurrection/ascension and his second appearing or return. This is also called “the last time/s” (Jude 1:18; 1 Pet. 1:20) or “the last hour” (1 John 2:18) or “the end of the ages” (1 Cor. 10:11). Just think of this: Man, seldom gets their stories straight and many like just to interpret God’s word to please themselves instead of just believing God.
All through the history of the world God has promised His children that one day they, through the Messiah/Jesus, …the Messiah who would establish and rule over his Kingdom, of which His children would be a part. That those that remained in Him would not only see His glory come, but that we would get to spend all of eternity with Him.
The Bible prophesied many things and so many of them have already been fulfilled. In fact, we are at the end of them and we can know that God always keeps His promises. “Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore, we know that it is the last hour.” (1 John 2:18)“He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you. . . .” (1 Pet. 1:20)
God placed His word in what we know as the Bible to help us live on this earth, and to know what to expect as we go through life. He also told us what would happen in the end times. We need to heed what He said to us so that we make the right choices in our life. “Now these things happened to them as an example, but they were written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come.” (1 Cor. 10:11) “But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.” (2 Tim. 3:1) Just look around at the world because no matter what direction we look…we can see exactly what God said would happen here on earth. However, many will not believe the truth…they have blinders on. “In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.” (Jude 1:18) Some people no matter how many times they are told the truth of God’s word they ignore it and will not believe it. We cannot make anyone believe, but we can tell them the truth of God’s word and pray for them. If one is told the truth and ignores it…they think that somehow it will not apply to them. How wrong they are.
Know this: That in the last days perilous times will come our way. Many people will have great fear in their life but God tells us that we don’t need to fear for He has this situation under control and knows exactly what He is doing. We need to trust God so our very soul can have His peace wash over us.
All around us these days there is such craziness and pretty much insanity going ton. Yet, if we hold onto Jesus, we can make it through.
In the last days we are told by God’s word that the children of Israel would return to Israel…which they have. That Israel would be born in a day and it was. It became a nation in one day in 1948. In Israel now there are over 6 million Jews there. God said their land would be given back, that their language would be restored to them, and that they would be a Banner for the nations, and they are. Jerusalem is now under the control of the Jewish people…praise the Lord.
There will be many false teachers out there in this world. Many will tell you what you want to hear because mankind really does like to sin. They will compromise God’s word and call good evil and evil good. God warned us of this happening. However, don’t you be deceived. It is up to each one of us personally not to be deceived. You should get into the word of God so that when you hear false statements your very being will know. In this world there are very bazaar so-called religions out there…false religions and we must stay prayed up so we never fall for them.
God told us in the last days that there would be a great falling away. We see that more and more each day. Many have and many will renounce God but it will not be well with them on judgement day. We can also look around and know that there are more and more disasters of many kinds going on. Beware of them. Stand on the word of God and hang on to Jesus. We truly have the responsibility to not be deceived. Let us each endure to the end so that God can take us home to our rest in Him. You…take stock of your world, your life, your heart, and you make wise choices. Be ready, be ready, be ready!!! Be prepared to meet Jesus for even though we don’t know the day or hour…we know it is soon. All I can say here is “Lord Jesus…please come for your bride and keep us strong until you do.”
