Post 7…March 2023…Greatefulness

What are you personally thankful for?

What do you include as things that you are truly thankful for?  This should, of course, be all the things God has done for you prior, what He is doing for you now, but also what He will do for you in the future as well.  This includes salvation, the forgiveness of sins, healing, justice, favor, and mercy.

Then things like food, clothing, a roof over your head, a job, safety, and family.  Every day we are blessed to wake up we need to be thankful for everyone and everything we have.  Our God is so merciful and loves us so very much.  Thank Him for that also.

Every day we can have joy in our soul for being alive and being able to let God work on us and in our life to change our destiny.  God is always faithful to us even when we are not thankful to Him. I know that I want God to help me grow in Him.

We need to always give thanks and our heart needs to be genuine.  Don’t be like some people who just make a list and declare they are thankful for things, when their heart is far from being thankful.

We develop a genuine heart of thankfulness when we thank God for prayers He has answered. We should also thank God before we see the answer.

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”(I Thessalonians 5:18)

Remember to thank God throughout our day for everything, big and small. When you wake up, thank God for the new day and your family. But what about the bad stuff? Are we supposed to give thanks even in the difficult things of life? Yes…but like this:  When bad stuff happens to us, we don’t thank God for the bad thing itself, but for what that experience is going to accomplish in us as we allow God to work through us.

Our gratitude glorifies God as we exalt not the gifts, but the Giver. Gratitude helps us realize all we have comes not because of us, but from God. When we are grateful it helps us see God.  When we are grateful we are in God’s will.  When we are grateful it brings our soul peace even in the midst of the storms of life. When we are grateful we are drawn closer to God.  When we are grateful our inner peace can give us contentment.  Being grateful deepens our faith.  When we are grateful it helps us defy the devil and stand up to him.

Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. Psalm 105:1

Be grateful in whatever state you are in.  There is always something to be thankful for.

Now may the Lord bless you, keep you, guide you, draw you, and show you the truth in every area of your life. May God give you His peace each day.

God bless you.
