Post 103… Why is it important for us to understand that God never changes?

As I look around this world today, I see changes everywhere.  In my life, I have seen a lot of change from when I was young.  My parents used to also tell me how the world was when they were little and I didn’t understand then, but I sure do now.

We live in a world of constant change. Think back to when you were young and what was the world like then?  I grew up with no cell phone, no computers, a party-line phone, a little tiny tv in a huge box, no remote, and people actually talked to one another.  We played outside until the lights came on, played making mud pies, played cards, board games (a few), skated, walked places, and took bottles back to the store so maybe we could get enough money to buy candy or something.  We carried heavy books to school, did our homework without google and would spend hours at the library doing research for our homework.  We had a gym class each day where we actually had to run, play ball, and exercise.  My list is extensive but I will stop here…because you get the picture…don’t you?

Then something happened but even more so…the Bible told us that technology would come and grow and grow and grow and nothing would ever be the same again. Technology has advanced and is advancing, at a rapid pace.

I know in school I had classes like home economics, sewing, wood shop, some had auto shop and so on.  My friends and I would get together and make cookies, talk a lot, play games, and it was a fun time.  Then I grew up and had kids.  I went back to school and took some classes.  One was on the first so-called beginning of computers.  It had what looked like a key board but in another room………………..a huge room was its brain.  This giant thing that made everything work.  Oh, I still had to type and all that but fixing mistakes was so much easier.  No white out, no erasing through carbons etc.  We didn’t have printers at will like they do now.  In fact, if you wanted a job in an office they tested you to see how fast you could type.  There were no cell phones and as I said, at home, we had party lines.  If you were on the phone too long someone would say somewhere out there that they needed to use the phone, and besides that people were always listening into your conversation.  You had different rings for each house on the party line so you would know it was for you.  You actually had to call the operator and ask things (no google), the phone rang a lot to annoy you because it was other people’s phone calls.  You also had to use phones out and about and put money in them…and there was no instant access, no text messages, no sending pictures.  If you had a camera you could take pictures and then take them to get developed.  You surely would not talk to your parents and disrespect them the way kids do today either. Girls wore skirts to school and they had to be below the knee and not halter tops or showing your parts… Yet through all of this stuff……….life was so much easier.

Things once deemed morally wrong in the Bible and in our society are now not only legal in this society…but celebrated. We are now told we are the problem if we believe in God and what God says because somehow God changed and we didn’t change. Evil is not said to be good in society, and good is now said to be evil.  Liars, cheats, frauds, corruption, murder, rape, civil unrest, abortion, living together but not married, gays, trans, and all the rest…we are told we must accept everything out there or we are the problem.  People do crimes now and before the day is over they are out of jail (if even they went) to go right back out and do it again.  In some places they can go into a store and steal your things and walk out with a 1000.00 worth of stuff and you can do nothing.  The have defunded our wonderful police and go after them, but not the crooks. No one seems to know how to tell the truth, and even what/who used to be best friends with you…could turn on you in a heartbeat and that is okay with society.  Our government is a farse, and full of evil and corruption and we sit and really do nothing to remove them (legally).  Our streets will erupt with hate and destruction, and many think it is okay…in fact, people like the top left and Soros find ways to fund their evil.  Now no one talks anymore.  Everyone is stuck to a phone and computer, playing games that are destructive and not good for young minds, they are told it is okay to change genders, and they encourage it.  Boys dress as girls and girls as guys and they actually believe if they add to or subtract to what God gave them as their body…male or female, that somehow a boy can have a baby.  We are told we must call them whatever they want to be known as (gender id)….well, no I don’t have to.  God created male and female and no matter what you add or subtract from your body, no matter who you think you are…you still have either the DNA of a male or a female.  I don’t deny you can claim to be whatever, live however, and believe whatever you choose to believe…but I do not have to accept it nor do I have to go along with it.  As far as abortions go…to me, by the word of God it is murder.  It is not your body it is the body of the child.  If you don’t want to get pregnant…stop having sex.  It is a very simple fix!!!

All around America and in this world, people make thousands of choices every day that either directly or indirectly affect us. To many of us out there It can all be overwhelming. Yet, I do know that no matter what this so-called new world throws out there I have a God in my life who comforts me in this craziness.

The Bible says that God doesn’t change.  What He said and says He means and no amount of change by today’s societies will ever change His word.  They can rewrite whatever, and declare things to the church, but God doesn’t change.  The Bible is clear that God does not change.

God, himself, says, “I the Lord do not change” (Mal 3:6 ESV). James writes, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change” (Jas 1:17). Psalm 102 says heaven and earth, “will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end” (Ps 102:26-27).

Sorry world but I will stand on God’s word over the world’s view every day of the week.

Who is God?  He is the creator of everything.  He is the great I AM!  He put breath in our lungs and He can take that breath away again.  God is life and He might let/allow people to go so far in their ways, but at some point, He will come back and take back this insanity that has been going on. God is self-existent.  He has no beginning and no end.  He is eternal.  Why would I want to believe the lies of any human instead of the truth of God? God is who he always will be. Unlike his creation, God is immutable—he does not change.

Since I know my God doesn’t change and He said what He said and meant what He said…then I know 100% I can trust and believe Him.  I have had people in my life lie to me…and in church as well…but I know and found out I can  trust God over every human being out there put together.   “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?” (Num 23:19). The Lord’s counsel, “stands forever, the plans of his heart to all generations” (Ps 33:11). His, “faithfulness endures to all generations” (Ps 119:90). God promises, “My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose… I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass; I have purposed, and I will do it” (Isa 46:10-11). God makes a promise by, “the unchangeable character of his purpose, he guaranteed it with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us” (Heb 6:17-18).

So let’s get this straight.  If God does not change, and His word is true, why wouldn’t I want to follow Him, do what He asks, and stay right in His sight? I don’t trust many people in our day and age, but I fully trust God.  I also know that we need other people in our life…like minded people who love Him.  But we also need to be about our Father’s business and tell others about Jesus so they can accept or reject Him by their own choice.  I can’t make anyone believe in God.  That is not my job anyway.  I can tell them what God says, tell them of His great love and mercy, but then it is up to them to make a decision.  I can pray they make the right choice but I can’t accept Jesus for anyone.

We can trust God’s Word to be as true today and forever as it always has been. Grass and flowers fade, “but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isa 40:8). The psalmist writes, “Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens” (Ps 119:89). This is why Jesus could say, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” Trusting in the words of others is like building on the sand, but God’s words are a rock—a firm, unchanging foundation.

Because God does not change, we can trust in Jesus. Jesus Christ is, “the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb 13:8). I can trust Jesus will persist to save those who trust in him because, “he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them” (Heb 7:24-25). I can always and forever place my hope and trust in Jesus because He will always fulfills his promises.

I do not now, or ever, need to change my opinion as to what God’s word says.  He is love, He is truth, and He is creator even if you, or others, don’t want to believe it.  Somehow it is easier for some to believe they came from a monkey, or a big bang, or whatever…but not to believe a creator created.  Funny how people didn’t keep changing after coming from a money to a human.

So, right now, we know the world is in chaos.  But do you realize God said before He returns it would get worse and worse.  I hate what is going on in my world around me.  I truly hate it, but I know God knows what He is doing at the moment He decides…He will return for His bride/the church, and then He will take care of the insanity here.  Yes, in the natural we don’t want to suffer, but I also know that my God will get me through even if I get some scars along my journey. I know each day if I wake up with anxiety, I can go to God and talk to Him and even in the midst of the storms…He comforts my soul.

Just as the song says, “Great is Your faithfulness, You never change, True are your promises, You never change”.

A few verses from the Bible about God not changing.  There are many and this is just a few of them:

Even if all the world fades away your word will stand forever. You Lord do not faint or grown weary. You are the same God who created the world and spoke it into existence. You are the God Abraham and Jacob.

You are the first and the last and there is no other God besides you.

You are my rock, my fortress and shelter, my strong and mighty tower.

You hold me in your hand and hide me beneath the shadow of your wings.

You knew me before I was born and you have a plan for my life. I know I can trust you no matter what my circumstances because you are good and you never change.

You are the great I AM and your love never fails.

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. (Psalm 90:2)

For I the Lord do not change; therefore you, O children of Jacob, are not consumed. (Malachi 3:6)

God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it? (Numbers 23:19)

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. (Isaiah 40:28)

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Matthew 24:35)

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” (Revelation 22:13)

Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will change them like a robe, and they will pass away, but you are the same, and your years have no end. (Psalm 102:25-27)

The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever. (Isaiah 40:8)

Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: “I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god. (Isaiah 44:6)

Now may the Lord bless you, keep you, protect you, heal you, give you His mercy and peace, and comfort your soul.  Have a blessed day.
