Post 27…January 2023…What is Salvation

What is salvation? In the most simple of terms it is being delivered so that your soul won’t be destroyed.

In our lifetime there are times that someone might say something like, ‘this person was in danger and someone saved them”.  Meaning they got out of the predicaments that they were in.  Maybe they were going to drown, and someone hopped in the water and saved them, or maybe they were sick and a doctor was able to save their life, but these saves are not the same as “salvation”.

At a point in my life, I had to decide to either follow Jesus, or to reject Him.  I chose to follow Him.  I was drawn to Him, and I know I didn’t deserve any mercy or grace, yet He loved me and offered it to me anyway.  He is so amazing and so loving that He offers you salvation and victory as well. Jesus is my spiritual wellness.  My life, my body, my issues in life might be difficult at times, but my soul is now at peace with Him.  He wants that for you as well.  Don’t you want that as well?

I guess we should understand here what we are being saved from.  If I say your salvation is to save you from the wrath of God because of the sin in your life, and that Jesus is not your Lord…do you understand this statement fully?  We are sinners by nature and by choice—because of the sin inherited from Adam and sin we commit because of our fallen nature.   Sin has consequences.  And the Bible says that the consequence of sin is spiritual death. Romans 6:23 NLT says:  “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord”. So salvation is being saved from God’s wrath concerning your sin. And if you want to say here that you don’t sin then you are lying and that is also a sin.  All have sinned and fallen short (expect our Lord).

The thing is that none of us can save ourselves.  No matter how good we might feel we are, or how we justify what all we have done in life…we can’t save ourselves.  Only the blood of Jesus can save us.  However, God has given us a way so we won’t face the wrath of God.  Ephesians 2:8 says, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”  So no matter what someone tells you, no matter what you do thinking you are smarter than God and can save yourself…it is not true.

Jesus came to this earth to save us.  He is the only way to heaven no matter what anyone says differently.  He gave His life for you and me, and He truly wants to spend eternity with us, but we have a part to play in this.

If Jesus is not your Lord no matter how good you think you are, no matter the good deeds you have done, it won’t matter because He is the only way to get into heaven…period!

Because He died for us and lives again, so can we die physically, then live eternally with Him. We do not deserve salvation. Salvation is a gift and you don’t get that gift if you don’t reach out and take it.  Eph 2:5, 8 says,” that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)   God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

I also want to state that just because you say that you believe in Jesus…it is not what saves you for even the devil and the fallen angels believe in Jesus.  There is more to it.  You must ask Jesus into your life, and you must repent of your sins which means you change direction.

Matthew 6:24 NLT says, “No one can serve two masters. For you will hate one and love the other; you will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and be enslaved to money.

When we are saved we are delivered from the consequences of our sins, but we must start living as God says to live and not go about returning to our old way of life.

So what happens when we die?  When we take that last breath here…what then? Do we get to go to heaven and see God?  Is there a glorious heaven and a suffering hell?  Yes!  Where will you be?  A lot of people will want to blame God if they don’t get to go to heaven…but it is their responsibility to choose the direction of your eternity.  Again, the only way you will ever get into heaven is if Jesus is your Lord and Savior. People seldom bother to discover for themselves the basis for the religious beliefs they hold. If there is life after death in Heaven or hell, how can we know what God demands from us in order to secure eternal life in Heaven? God’s word holds the answer to this question, but if you never research God’s word then you can be greatly deceived, and it is your soul for all eternity that is at stake.

To be wrong regarding salvation can doom yourself to an eternity in the pain and suffering of the Lake of Fire.

Man’s viewpoint won’t mater…when they are deceived.  You have a choice, and you have a brain, and you need to research this for yourself.  All the religious ideas in the world can be classified as either human viewpoint, or divine viewpoint.

How many people, especially nowadays, just take people’s viewpoint as truth?  I don’t believe one politician out there, and I sure don’t believe any of the woke people.  They lie through their teeth.  I’ll take God’s word over everyone and everything.  Even within the church people just believe what they are fed in church without seeing what God actually says about it.  A pastor can’t tickle ones ears with lies, deceptions, and compromise without facing the wrath of God for deceiving people.

The Bible tells the truth and you can always trust God and His word.  For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

We all have sinned and fallen short.  Our morals of life are rather filthy in comparison to what God says.  People lie, steal, cheat, and commit over 600 sins that are stated in the Bible.  Our morals do not line up with God’s view of what morals are, but we can change and get on the right path with God.  We can ask Him into our life, confess our sins, and repent/change the direction we have been going in.  Maybe you have not committed a lot of sins but sin is sin and we all have messed up.  However, what humans do is say things like they are not as bad as so and so!  In whose viewpoint?

There is so much on this subject that you need to search God’s word for.  God wants you in heaven.  He wants you saved…but He will allow you to choose not to be.  That is my God.  You have a precious gift available to you.  Why would you not want to take it?  Why would you choose to live without God when He is offering you everything.  Sins might be fun to you for the moment, but if you don’t go to God and deal with them the consequences of those sins.  Right now while you are reading this…talk to God.  Confess your sins and turn away from them.  If you don’t know Jesus ask Him into your life.  Change your destiny!

Now, may the Lord bless you, draw you to Him, help you, teach you, provide for your needs, heal your body, fix the broken parts of your life, and may He give you peace.

God bless you
