Post 133…Slavery

Wednesday, December 14, 2022  Slavery

I don’t speak for anyone but myself. I can’t speak for you. God judges people in their age (time period). I don’t need to judge anyone. However, I don’t have to agree with people who do and blame others for stuff they have no control over.

Let’s talk slavery. In America, students have been taught starting from a very young age that many of America’s founders owned slaves and they surely did. We all know it is wrong to “own” anyone or put anyone in chains. Yes, people in America did own slaves…but not everyone did, nor did everyone think it was right (good moral white Christians did not believe anyone should be enslaved). These kids in school from an early age are being told white people, and Christian people are bad people. It is a lie.

Most of all slavery in America was in the south. Yet, kids are told that people are all bad and that America is a bad place. People have gone quite insane (in my opinion). At the time of America’s founding, virtually every society in the world including non-Western countries like Asia, Africa, and Muslim societies owned slaves and slavery was rampant. People practiced and owned slaves. It was a “norm” at that age. Many countries around the world today still have slavery.

Example:  Top 10 Countries with the Highest Prevalence of Modern Slavery (by total number of slaves) – Global Slavery in 2018

  1. India – 7,989,000
  2. China – 3,864,000
  3. North Korea – 2,640,000
  4. Nigeria – 1,386,000
  5. Iran – 1,289,000
  6. Indonesia – 1,220,000
  7. Congo (Democratic Republic of) – 1,045,000
  8. Russia – 794,000
  9. Philippines – 784,000
  10. Afghanistan – 749,000

Do you see that?  Slavery is still in existence, and I am pretty sure that they don’t want to be enslaved either

However…read this over and over again….It was America and the western Bible-based (Judeo-Christian) civilization that abolished slavery before any other civilization did. And ultimately, the American founder’s values created a nation that provided more non-whites with more liberties and more prosperity than the rest of the world who did and do own slaves still. I said that to say this. You were not a slave. I was not a slave owner. I don’t believe in the slavery of anyone in any place on earth. I think it is evil beyond words to ever think that someone can own and hurt others.

Now understand this well…thousands and thousands of white people who were Christians and good people died to set the slaves free in America, yet we get dumped into this idea that all white people, all Christians are bad and somehow it was our doing. It was not our doing.

I also don’t owe any person reparations. Reparations for whom and what? For you because you might be black. What about reparations for all the families of those that fought to free the slaves? Look around the world at all the slavery still in existence it is in many countries, and it is still wrong and still evil. But stop blaming Americans alive today for what they did not do.

The ones who did own slaves back then…many of them just went along with the rest of the world at the time. I’m sure in their heart they knew it was evil and wrong, but why blame those that did not, and why in the world would you want us in this day and age…to pay you who were not slaves nor alive?  Why should I and the rest of America who was not a slave owner…for the deeds of what was normal in that day even though it was evil and wrong. And why do you go about calling all of us “white” people racist? You don’t know me, and the color of my skin doesn’t make me racist. Personally, I see more black people and more Mexicans racist than I ever see white people being so, but society has caused so much racial hatred everywhere…people are becoming racist on all sides. And by the way, I am white, I and I am not ashamed of being white or Christian. I don’t have to make excuses for being either. God made me this way and God made you whatever color you are. I am white, married to a Mexican, we have a black son, black grandkids, and other races in our family for which I am blessed by and thankful. Stop calling white people and Christians racist. Stop blaming us for what happened before we were born. Stop thinking anyone is better than another person is. Stop the woke crap going on, and all the crap gender id’s which are insane. Be whom God created you to be. Be human, be moral, have integrity, and know that all this racism and hatred is just plain wrong. It is just wrong.
