Post 123…Judgment is Going to Come

Friday December 2, 2022

Even if you believe there is no judgment coming…you will find out you were wrong. Right now…maybe even this very minute you truly need to consider what that means and take care of business with God.  For one second after death is one second to late to fix your relationship with Him.

No one really wants to think about being judged or even that it will happen to them.  Maybe to some really bad dude, but not to them.  It will happen no matter who you are: rich, poor, young, old, no matter where you were born, or whom you were born to, no matter your customs, or the color of your skin.  If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, and if you have not confessed your sins and repented/changed, then you will stand before God and He must judge you.

There are many people who think they can wait and do this at some later date, but do you 100% know you will have a later date to do it.  You see, we are not even promised one minute from now.  Now is the time we need to do something about our relationship with the Lord.  You see…anything can happen to us at any moment and that chance to make things right will be gone.  (Sickness, crime, and accidents to name a few that can take a life)

Maybe you are one of those people who say you just don’t believe in God, or maybe if you do believe you don’t believe God would judge or keep anyone out of heaven.  First, God doesn’t keep you out of heaven…you do.  You see the requirement to heaven is that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior.  If He is not then He will not let you in there. Why?  Because it is His heaven and His requirement to get there. You also might think you are a really good person so you would get in.  That is not the requirement!  Maybe you are a nice person who does a lot of good things, but the Bible doesn’t say you will make it across the finish line.  Yes, you need to be a good person, but without Jesus, no matter how good you think you are that still is not the requirement for heaven

The Bible has much to say on judgment. In fact, judgment is talked about in the King James Version like 400 plus times.  I would think that would be important, wouldn’t you?  There are different kinds of judgments in the bible as well.  Adam and Eve didn’t listen to God and did what He said not to and were kicked out of the Garden, And the people of Sodom and Gomorrah were decimated because of their sins.  The people building the Tower of Babel God judged by confusing their language, and in Noah’s time, the people kept sinning and getting worse so God brought a flood and all died except Noah and his family.  I’d say that God takes His word seriously and judgment seriously.  Well, it is time we deal with it while we can.

So, if we really study God’s word we will find that we will face God and give an account.  That is accountability!  We will, in whatever way He says, be judged on what we did or didn’t do, but the fact He is not our Lord, we didn’t confess our sins, and we didn’t repent of them.    “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). The Bible is clear that a time of accountability, or judgment, is coming.

Perhaps the most well-known judgment is the Great White Throne Judgment. This judgment is described near the end of the Bible in the book of Revelation. This is the judgment of the unsaved of all the ages (Revelation 20:5-6). Even the words Great White Throne Judgment is a scary thought.  What will it look like, will we be able to talk, will we try to make excuses for our own actions, will we blame others because we didn’t ask Jesus into our lives?

“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:11-15).

I can’t speak for you but that sure would sound scary to me if I didn’t know Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  Hell won’t be a party people.  Hell is called hell for a reason.  There are no appeals there, no time out for time served, it is a permanent state if you go there.

As I sit here writing this I wonder why people would not want to be in heaven with Jesus.  Why they would refuse the most amazing offer of salvation and life eternal in a great place.  But many will choose hell over heaven because they just don’t really get it.  If they did get it they would run to Jesus and ask Him to forgive them and accept Jesus as their Lord.

Do you realize without Jesus when you die, and when you stand before God you won’t have an attorney to plead your case.  There will be no crooked politicians, crooked DAs, relatives, friends, or anyone to go before God and ask Him to let you into heaven.  Now, is the time to get right with God.  Right now!  Don’t put this off even 5 more minutes people.  The most awful words you would ever hear, is “Depart from me, I never knew you.”  That means you are not getting into heaven, but will be escorted to hell for all eternity.  Don’t go there  Please don’t go there.  Ask Jesus right not to be your Lord and turn your life around no matter how bad a person you have been, or to those that think they are good…no matter what you do good in this life is a good deed, but it is not the requirement for heaven.

God’s judgment is final and it is perfect!

Everyone whose name is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Jesus said, “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity” (Matthew 7:22-23). Those are the most dreadful words a person could ever hear.

Those who have, in this life, placed their faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will one day appear before the Judgment Seat of Christ. This is the judgment of the believer’s works. The believer’s sins have already been nailed to the cross through faith in Christ. This Judgment is where the rewards will be handed out or lost.   These two different judgments are coming, and we do not know the day or the hour but we know it will come soon.  It will be in God’s timing, and He is not on our timetable.  The moment He says enough…there will be no way to change.  I know some one reading this will think and say they have time but what if you die today?  You can’t get this time back to make the decision.  The last breath you take on this earth will determine where you will be for all eternity.

Even, us who are Christians, need to evaluate our walk with God all the time.  Are we doing what God wants?  If not…why not?  Do we need to confess something, repent of something, change something in our life that doesn’t fully line up with God’s word in our life?  Just because a church (not a godly one at that) tells us that God now allows something and would be good with it…if God called it sin it will still be sin.  God doesn’t change sin into something good. Are you God’s faithful servant doing as He requires or are you a person who somehow thinks God doesn’t or won’t bring consequences for your bad actions that have not been confessed, repented of/change?

Death might be scary for some for we have not died before, and we don’t want to leave our loved ones that is a given, but to those who love the Lord and do as the Lord wants…we don’t need to fear death.

Thoughts:  God loves us.  He died to give us life eternal with Him.  He paid the price for our sins.  God doesn’t want anyone lost and going to hell.  He has offered each of us eternal life but not all will take that gift from Him.  You see, a lot of people enjoy their sins, don’t’ want to change, but many don’t understand that God is real, heaven and hell are real, and that as much as God loves us He will allow us to spend eternity in hell if we choose not to have Him as our Lord.  Sin and flesh can be fun, but it is wrong in the sight of God.  Many will declare God is not real, heaven and hell are not real and when you did you just cease to exist so go ahead and do whatever you want. S T O P!  That is a lie.  Don’t fall for it.  Right this moment, if you don’t know God He is offering you eternal life with Him.  I can’t make that choice for you and neither can anyone else.  The choice has to come from you.  As for me, I choose Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I choose to follow Him.  I might mess up on occasion, but I know exactly where to go to get right with Him again.  Please don’t fall for the lies of the devil and his cohorts.  You learn of God Almighty.  Please choose wisely because that decision is for all eternity and since you don’t know the last moment you will have on this earth…choose wisely right now.

Now, may God bless you, keep you, provide for you, give you His peace, and may you find strength in Him every day you have left upon this earth.

God bless you
